OOCThe player for this journal is over 18. The easiest method of contact is via PM. I use plurk and discord, but mostly for friends, so things about assorted meme threads are likely to get lost. That said, if we're memeing a lot and you want to generally be added to my plurk timeline, let me know.
I am totally fine with backtags! I understand that life happens and will happily pick up old threads where they left off if we're both still interested, particularly with regard to memes since those don't have to tie into any overarching game plots. That said, I'm not always sure how other people handle that, so I admit I'm likely to just move on from threads I've left go for several days for whatever reason. If you haven't heard from me in a while and want something to keep going, tell me! Chances are either the notif got lost and I didn't realise it was my turn, or I'm making an incorrect assumption that the slowness will frustrate you.
I also don't mind answering questions or puzzling out how to work out situations/assumed CR/whatever, so if you ever want clarification on something, you're welcome to PM.
If you want a general list of things I groove on in fiction, you can find that
here!
ICJuggler is an alien, a canon dimension-hopper, and very very old. As such, you get your choice of canon point and setting. He's very easy to cross over into other canons, so I'm pretty happy to toss him just about anywhere.
At every canon point, he appears 100% human save for the superpowers, which include flying, teleporting, being unusually fast, being able to survive in space, and being able to transform into a
scary looking armored thing (which he will generally do whenever he needs to be serious in a fight, whether that shocks people or not. He really doesn't care about maintaining a secret identity.) Most of his timeline (covered by the middle two on the list below) also includes him collecting cards and using them to summon giant monsters.
Note: Despite keeping the summaries here short, this section necessarily contains a few spoilers. You've been warned.Origin (uses alternate journal
serpenthearted)
Situation: As a cocky young swordsman, he tries to become a superhero. He isn't chosen; instead his friend Gai is, surprising them both. And then life just generally sucks.
Likely settings: Anywhere. He's not really sure what to do with himself.
First Impression: Cool, harsh, independent. Goes out of his way to prove he's strong.
Under the Surface: Intensely emotionally wounded. Failing to be chosen by the Light set off all sorts of insecurities. Feeling like he then couldn't keep up with Gai anymore (despite being the stronger of them to start) made it worse. Thanks to various canon events, he feels unwanted and alone. Ultimately, he still wants to prove that he can be the hero he wanted to be; his demeanor may be a bit offputting and his methods might strike as a little ruthless, but his heart is in the right place.
Best for: War scenarios or other opportunities to make himself useful by fighting. Shipping with kind people who'll see that he's hurting.
After RusalkaSituation: A lot of time has passed since the first canon point, and he's long given up on any attempts to be good. Lacking anything more productive to do, Juggler sets out to wreck Gai's life. He ends up saving Gai's girlfriend instead, and then wonders what the fuck happened.
Likely settings: Anywhere that isn't Earth, or at least isn't the same Earth he was just on. He wants to be far away.
First Impression: Mysterious. Melodramatic. Nice clothes. Flirty. Polite but unsettling.
Under the Surface: He's built up a nice dark self-image for himself by this point, and is having a difficult time dealing with that image being threatened by his own unconscious actions. Shaken and trying to reestablish who he is. This is the timeframe where he's least likely to talk about himself at all, unless it's to say something cryptic implying he might be evil. He just wants to get away and forget everything.
Best for: Winding up in weird locations he wouldn't normally be found in. Shipping with less nice people who won't get on his case about trying to find good in him and won't pry into his past. Easiest option for smut, probably.
Main SeriesSituation: Having thoroughly convinced himself that he is every bit the villain he's tried to make himself into and that he needs to beat Gai once and for all, he does what any good villain does: wreck Tokyo with giant monsters.
Likely settings: Tokyo. He is in the middle of plans. Though it's possible he could be dragged somewhere else unwillingly through odd circumstances.
First Impression: Same as above, but determined. Focused on Gai as his enemy. Increasingly unhinged. Inclined to find and point out the worst in everyone.
Under the Surface: He's tired of everything. He still wants the acknowledgement and reassurance he never got from Gai early on. He still wants to forget everything that happened in Rusalka. He mostly wants all of this to be over, and thinks maybe it would be if Gai was dead, except when it comes down to it, he doesn't want to kill him, either. This is a crisis point; a last ditch effort to make Gai acknowledge him, or destroy everything trying.
Best for: Scheming. Crazy moments. Disaster scenarios that he probably caused.
MovieSituation: After more or less making up with Gai, he finds his true role as frustrating antihero.
Likely settings: Anywhere, but barring odd circumstances, it'll never be too long before he ends up back in Tokyo.
First Impression: Rusalka notes continue to apply, but he's more relaxed and playful.
Under the Surface: He's coming to terms with not being a villain and remembering how to be a good guy. He still likes getting under people's skin and making them question his motives, but it's much more mischievous than evil, and he'll go out of his way to work against the villains of the moment and protect the people he cares about.
Best for: Any scenario that could use a ridiculous drama queen alien. General non-shippy things, since there's enough established connection with Gai and Naomi at this point to make him not all that interested in anyone else. He might still flirt, though, just because.
Shipping/SmutThere's a kink list
here. Exactly how interested I am in NSFW threads at any given time is pretty variable, and I'm generally willing to roll with other people's preferences. Sexy threads, nonsexy threads, fade to black, it's all good. I'm mostly in it for emotional content, either way, whether that's relationshippy or just generally psychological.
That said, I am basically always good with shipping Juggler. He's had a long and lonely life that forever needs more fluff in it. Given Juggler, romance is likely to be subtle and slow-burn, even if it might lead off with over the top flirting.
